chemical peels

At Dermalase we offer Chemical peels. Chemical skin peels are cosmetic treatments used to improve the appearance of the skin on the face, neck, or hands. During a chemical peel, a chemical solution is applied to the skin, causing it to exfoliate and eventually peel off. This process removes the outer layer of damaged or aged skin, revealing newer, smoother skin underneath.

There are different types of chemical peels available, ranging from superficial peels to deep peels, and the choice of peel depends on the skin concerns being addressed. Here are the three main types of chemical peels:

1. Superficial peels: These peels use mild acids (such as alpha hydroxy acids or AHAs) to gently exfoliate the outer layer of the skin. They are used to improve the appearance of mild skin imperfections, such as fine lines, sun damage, and uneven skin tone.

2. Medium peels: These peels penetrate deeper into the skin than superficial peels and typically use trichloroacetic acid (TCA) or a combination of acids. They are effective in treating moderate skin imperfections, such as age spots, wrinkles, and acne scars.

3. Deep peels: Deep peels use strong acids, such as phenol, to penetrate several layers of skin. They are the most aggressive type of peel and are used to address severe skin concerns, such as deep wrinkles, pronounced sun damage, and scars. Deep peels require more downtime for recovery compared to superficial and medium peels.

It is important to consult with our skincare professional before undergoing a chemical peel to determine the most suitable type of peel for your skin type and concerns. Additionally, proper post-peel care, including sun protection and skincare products, is essential to ensure optimal results and minimize the risk of complications and creating fantastic results
